BROKEN ON TOUR -
After the release of the BROKEN: Special Edition DVD
both Jorge and I have been invited to speak at a number
of educational institutions...(yeah I know, this is
crazy to us too.) Since the DVD has over three hours
of special features and we designed it for indie filmmakers,
students, schools, or just film geeks like us, schools
have been requesting us to speak at their institutions.
Since we are, if I may quote Kevin Smith "media
whores" ; ) we agreed! So with that said we will
be posting here all of our BROKEN travels and where
we will be speaking next. Again, thank you all for your
AMAZING support of this little short film and we hope
the DVD continues to help filmmakers on their future
proejcts.
All the Best,
Alex & Jorge

BROKEN ON TOUR - SCREAMFEST
FESTIVAL was awesome! We were able to
get amazing exposure for BROKEN. We were scheduled for
only 2 screenings, 1 Saturday and 1 on Sunday, but we
sold out the first screening so fast that the event
operators scheduled 2 more screenings. We had an amazing
turn out! ALL 4 SCREENINGS
WERE STANDING ROOM ONLY! We are so thank
full for everyone that showed up & enjoyed B R O
K E N. We also met a few celebs while we were there.
Some of the guest celebs actually came looking for us
because they kept hearing people talk about this crazy
short film playing at the festival. Also a big thanks
goes out to Samantha Jane Poley, Amber Crawford, Ken
Robkin and Dan Cregan for coming out to the event. Again,
we are truly humbled by the turn out and support. Thank
you! Here are some pictures from the event:

BROKEN ON TELEVISION
- Our guest appearance on "The
Screening Room with Jonathan Krane."
went AMAZING!!! Mr. Krane (producer of Look
Who's Talking, Face/Off, Swordfish) was
extremely pleasent, supportive, and overall super cool.
Here is a few things he had to say about BROKEN: "Excellent
directing, camerawork, music, production design, and
very well edited. The production value is truly amazing
for $8000. The story is intriging and as a viewer you
want to know more. Very nice job, you guys have talent."
It was a big thrill for Jorge and I to meet him, to
be on the show, and pick his brain a bit. After producing
over 45 films he has a little experience. ; ) Check
out his IMDB: Jonathan
Krane
Here is the info on when the show will air:
Film producer Jonathan Krane is stepping
in front of the cameras, signing on to host the new
indie film-focused show "The Screening Room"
for a high-definition TV station in West Palm Beach,
Fla.
The series, which will air on
WHDT from 8-10 p.m. Mondays starting Oct. 3,
will feature a "watch and discuss" format
with either three 20-minute films or a full-length feature,
followed by Krane ("Look Who's Talking," "Face/Off")
holding discussions with the filmmakers or cast involved
in the project. Krane said the show will give the films
a chance to reach a wider audience than, for example,
just festivalgoers. He added that he intends to ask
"hard questions" about how the filmmaker's
original vision matches up with the final product and
hopes that viewers learn something about moviemaking.
"It's not going to be a typical show where I ask
about what it was like working with so-and-so as an
actor, but more about the filmmaking process,"
he said. Krane said his ultimate goal is to start sell
the show for national syndication, but he's taking a
wait-and-see attitude as to whether he might try to
bring in a distributor or sell the show himself.
WHDT, which is operated by MIG Broadcast Group, is co-producing
the show. MIG president and CEO Gunter Marksteiner pointed
out that the films will be converted to high-definition
when necessary and that the shows will be shot just
days before their airdate to "keep them current."
WHDT is carried on Comcast (Channel
162) and Adelphia (Channel 17) in the West Palm Beach
market, and the show will be available to about 2 million
viewers when it debuts, Marksteiner said.
He added that the other stations operated by MIG --
WHDN in Boston, WHDT in Miami
and WYDT in Naples, Fla. -- will start airing the series
in January, increasing its availability to more than
10 million viewers.

set:

Full Sail: Real World Education
- Dave Franko the Director of the Film
Program at Full Sail located in Winter
Park, FL invited us to speak about BROKEN and had a screening
of the short. We also did an entertaining presentation
of the BROKEN: Special Edition DVD.
Here is a bit about
Full Sail (BTW, Alex Ferrari graduated from the school
in 1995):
"As they say in film schools across the country
(and we're paraphrasing), "Anyone can make a better
movie than Battlefield Earth." Ok, they might not
really say that, but if you've been looking for a college
that can show you how, welcome to Full Sail.
Full Sail's Film Degree Program covers the entire filmmaking
experience, as you work with students united by their
love of movies. Over the course of 12 months, our experienced,
professional staff will show how to execute every position
on a film production – from director, cinematographer,
and producer, to key grip, set dresser, and electrician…
and yes, even the best boy.
And the whole time, you'll be using these newfound skills
to actually create films. Full Sail students work in
groups that emulate a real world production crew, while
shooting their projects with digital cameras, 16mm cameras,
and professional 35mm film cameras like the Arricam
Studio and Arricam Lite.
The Film Degree Program may be taken by itself and,
upon successful completion, will result in an Associate
of Science Degree. The Entertainment Business curriculum
may be taken in addition to Film and will result in
a Bachelor of Science Degree when both are completed."
